It removes the scenario of "a child has to be hurt in order for anyone to take action and MAYBE conduct a diversity training:" It also allows the management to see which of the teachers disagree with diversity policies and have a discussion with them, trying to understand their POV and, hopefully, educate them on the discrimination that many of the student groups face - and there is a lot of groups that do face that discrimination: girls, queer, trans and intersex students, POC students, disabled students, students with special needs, etc.
