Diversity trainings both increase awareness and allow us to hold workers who infringe upon diversity policies accountable. It removes the scenario of "a child has to be hurt in order for anyone to take action and MAYBE conduct a diversity training:" It also allows the management to see which of the teachers disagree with diversity policies and have a discussion with them, trying to understand their POV and, hopefully, educate them on the discrimination that many of the student groups face - and there is a lot of groups that do face that discrimination: girls, queer, trans and intersex students, POC students, disabled students, students with special needs, etc.
